Galway theatre company Jasango are back with a bang at Roscommon Arts Centre this Tuesday 19th June, 8pm, with a new production of Geraldine Aron's hilarious My Brilliant Divorce.

This travelling troupe are on track for a big hit with this wittily observant and achingly funny play, and they look forward to raising the roof with this great Girls Night Out treat. Groups of ladies and their friends are invited along to a fun night out with plenty of laughs at the arts centre and Roscommon has also arranged for local beautician Denise Harlow of Beauty Secrets to come along with details about some of her girlie 'Pick n' Mix' treats and a complimentary nail paint. And, of course, men are more than welcome to join the fun, too.

My Brilliant Divorce had its World Premiere in 2001 and went on to be nominated for an Olivier Award, selling out theatres all over the world. Laugh out loud comedy, combined with heart-wrenchingly honest moments, make this an unforgettable show that both engages and entertains. The title role is played by Angela Ryan, co-founder of Jasango Theatre and this role is an acting tour-de-force that highlights Ryan's incredible energy and range as she swaps roles and accents at break-neck speed.

Meet Angela Lipsky, once half of 'Angela and Max', the world's happiest couple. That was before Max unexpectedly dumps her and runs off with Rosa, a young Mexican woman and definitely a 'younger model'. Join Angela on her poignant and hilarious journey as she attempts to rebuild her life, finding herself adrift in a sea of weird sexual encounters, sneaky solicitors, phone-in counsellors, a bad case of hypochondria and the spectre of poverty. We follow her progress from messy marital break-up to a full divorce and along the way we meet an array of extraordinary characters.

Jasango Theatre was founded in 2009 as a collaborative, multi-disciplinary company with a strong commitment to promoting women artists, bringing together musicians, visual artists and theatre practitioners to create fresh, multi-dimensional theatrical events.
