I never really understood why the age has been a factor. I said the same thing with the original Star Trek Movies. They played them well and even made their age an issue in some of the plots. Harrison looks great and he can still do the action scenes. So what if he is pushing 70.When I saw the first publicity shot of Ford as Jones when they were filming Crystal Skull I thought to myself, WOW! He looks just a little older but not that much. I am more concerned with them finding a good script then how old the actors are. The less involved George Lucas is with this the better. Some new blood in the script and development is what they need. Christopher Nolan or maybe even JJ Abrams giving them some suggestions would be great. The last film had a terrible villain. Love Cate Blanchet but she was awful.I still have high hopes. I did not hate Crystal Skull, but thought they could have done better. One thing I did like was the look of the film. No HD Digital just good old fashion film making.I'm hopeful, but if they do it I say do it now and get it over with.

One thing I hated about it (though I enjoyed the film), was the annoying use of green-screen for exterior shots. It's horribly distracting when everyone has this hazy outline and are unnaturally lit for the environment. Mamma Mia was the WORST about that. If you can't go on location, then do it the old-fashioned way. Even the old Hitchcock films look more convincing.

It was nice seeing Karen Allen again. Other than that, I can't think of a single thing to recommend #4. Seemed like they had some left overs from Close Encounters they wanted to get some mileage out of.

5? seriously, meh.

Sounds like Indy 5 is officially dead. Just wish George Lucas would make it official.I LOVE Indiana Jones (not wild about Indy 4)and was hoping that they could go out with a better film than Crystal Skull. Perhaps this is better. If they can't come up with a McGuffin after all these years then yeah, they really should pack it up.

It's better off dead. I personally have no interest in watching a geriatric Harrison Ford still trying to be an action hero.

Wasn't Indy rendered immortal after drinking from the Holy Grail?

Yeah, I think it's for the best. And the rumours of using the beyond obnoxious Shia LaBeouf as a new hero were pretty off-putting. (The way Hollywood works right now we'll probably just get a Raiders remake in five years...)

"Wasn't Indy rendered immortal after drinking from the Holy Grail?"

No, it prolonged his lifespan, but by leaving that temple and not being able to keep drinking from the Grail he does not have immortality.

It's too bad they didn't shoot the Frank Darabont script of Indy IV. I would be all for Indy V if George Lucas had no input.
