This will be my first time watching it! I like The Glass House, so I figured I would try this. It was good thus far. I'm shocked that the only black person and pretty much the only minority there, besides the Puerto Rican, was the first to be eliminated! I'm not crying racism or pissed or anything, just shocked! You would think they would keep her for one more week just to keep up appearances, but nope!

Big Brother is so much fun and very addicting. Beware that you will be giving up countless hours of your life, especially if you watch After Dark.

I'm sorry Jodi left so soon. I think she would have been an interesting housemate.

I loved Julie's outfit straight out of the Sonny & Cher show.

Another season with Boogie- but at least we have Janelle and Britney. Dan looks good too.

Ian is so cute and hope he sticks around. Why did Janelle pick Wil as her first choice? Was not who I would have gone for at all.

Time and genetics have not been kind to Mike Boogie. Not that he was anything special before...but now he just looks odd.

Totally addicted, as usual. I haven't missed a season. I like this set-up, with two competitions going on at once. And, I love that Janelle and Brit are back. Boogie's nose looks like half of it collapsed.

I'm happy BB is back, but honestly...two former winners?! Janelle, who I like, back for a third time?!

and I hate Mike, and his third time AND a winner?! UGH!

Let start with "The Glass House", is a horrible show. There is TO much audience interaction, every time it gets good that damn wall thing goes off. "Big Brother" had nothing to worry about. I LOVE this show, addicted already. I don't think it's the last we'll see of Jodi.

ucjrdude- I agree. Jodi will definitely be making a reappearance.

doodle- At least the former players are not competing for the 500,000. I like when former houseguests come back to host a challenge or something like that, but this isn't an all-stars season. That said I LOVE Janelle and they could cancel the competition and just let Janelle and Britney do diary room chats every episode and I'd be pretty happy.

For everyone- do you just like to watch or would you like to be on the show too? How do you think you would do in the house?

Whizzer, as ruthless as Big Brother can be I don't think they are THAT ruthless to cut someone on day one, they haven't had enough beds in the past. But I would love to do the show and not being boastful I think I'd do well.

I feel like I would do pretty well at this show too. If there was any show I could handle, it would be BB - I just don't fit the physical mold they obviously look for (which is mid-20s and ridiculously good looking).

I've been watching The Glass House too - last night's ep. of BB pointed out how much of a rip-off that show is. It's not nearly as entertaining, and BB already tried the "let America vote" thing - it works WAY better when they vote out their own!

I think I would do well too, and I think it would be a lot of fun. Too bad we can't have a BWW version some summer! Maybe they could lock us in The Cort or The Lyceum and have us do challenges there.

jason- I completely agree about the voting. That's where all the drama comes from. What's the point of having alliances and playing a "social game" if America is voting out houseguests?

Not to get harping on it but "The Glass House" is just dumb. There is to much producer interaction. That's one of the good things about Big Brother, besides a few games and Julie Chen their own craziness runs the game. In TGH that board thing goes off WAY to many times.

I've never watched Glass House, but I have watched every season of Big Brother. The original premise of BB was that the houseguests had to do EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that Big Brother dictated. He (male voice) controlled what they did in the house -- when they ate, what they ate, made them stay up without sleep, woke them up a dozen times during sleep, etc. It was a very controlled environment.

Originally America voted people off BB also. They scrapped that when they realized they voted out all the interesting people and the house was full of boring people after the fourth or fifth week.

The Glass House is just doing what BB did the first season.

The thing that keeps me watching TGH is the people are actually pretty interesting. The ironic thing is that I think some of them would make good BB guests!

I never saw the first season of BB, but it sounds like all the changes they made were for the best. The format of the show now is amazing.

So did the first season have HOH and POV competitions or was all that created for season 2?

Season 1 did not have HOH or POV. The wiki link I've attached provides a pretty good synopsis.

Glass House is simply the European format of Big Brother, but watered down for American television. BB is a hit in Europe (the show originated in the Netherlands) because most of the contestants use sex to stay in the house knowing it's what audiences want to see and there is far more nudity and sexual content aired in the episodes. The first season of the American series was a huge bomb because nobody knew what to do and it was dull as dirt. Removing the audience voting for the second season made the show far more compelling as the contestants weren't simply performing for the viewing audience.

Glass House is trying to have it both ways, but it's flailing because behavior motivated by strategy is far more interesting to watch than behavior motivated by attention. The only interesting part is when they vote for one person to go to Limbo. Otherwise, the only thing you're really watching is a bunch of people saying "Look at me! Look at me!" and by the second episode, it's just annoying.

Already hooked on the new BB. Love seeing Janelle and Britney back. Dan is SO dull and Mike is just gross. I'm just disappointed that Mike can't be voted out of the house. And I can't BELIEVE they are still trying to get mileage out of Russell from Survivor. WHO CARES?!?! Russell was only good at two things: Being a douchebag and finding hidden necklaces. That's it. And after the way Russell treated his nephew, I'm disappointed CBS is still trying to glorify this idiot.

I think it goes to show how Glass House is bound to fail how I hadn't even heard about it until I read this post! It all seems to similar, wonder how the rights or royalties of Big Brother played out. Either way, Big Brother is an amazing show, the only reality TV show I watch religiously! I love Dan, I'm glad he's back. Can't wait to see what Wil gets himself into. Frank is such a cutie!

I'm so in love with Ian tonight.

Does Willie shave his pits? Yuck. Another reason to want him out of the house. I never watched Survivor, but if his brother is anything like him I can understand why they want him out.

Why is this show so amazing?!?!

It really is! A was trying to convince a friend to give a chance this summer and he was worried about the time commitment. I told once he starts watching he'll wish it was on more than it already is.

So who do we think is going home? What happens if all of Dan's houseguests are sent him? Does he leave the house as well? Don't you think there's going to be another twist that the coaches can enter the game and compete for the 500,000 but lose out on vying for the 100,000?
