Marcin Pliszka exhibition opens at Roscommon Arts Centre The second of these exhibitions featuring work by Marcin ‘BON’ Pliszka opens next Friday 6th July 5.30pm – 7pm. All are welcome to the opening and the exhibition continues until 20th July, where members of the public are welcome to call into Roscommon Arts Centre during centre opening hours. Titled ‘Stencil’s Point of View’ this exhibition asks “Is it possible that the long process of creating gives the artist greater satisfaction than the final effect?” Perhaps the effect on its own is the creation of art in itself. This is an exhibition of artworks where the brush has been replaced with spray paint and a pretty model with fish. You are welcome to an exhibition of works which were created in the stencil technique. Marcin ‘Bon’ was born in 1985 in Poland, currently living in Roscommon. He paints graffiti by using spray paint in stencil technique. He paints on all materials from canvases and boards to metal plates. One of the most popular series of stencils Marcin has created is that showing the fish. All stencils are cut by him using a scalpel focusing on precision and accuracy. Members of the public are encouraged to come along and support these artists. Entry to the gallery is during centre opening hours and is always free.
